This year I did two major custom pieces.

The first was an Adam Ant inspired pirate shirt of white cotton with ruffle around 12” of front lacing, stand up collar and ruffled cuffs.

The second was a two piece faerie outfit which can be worn together or separate. The underdress is turquoise chiffon over cotton/rayon lining. Bust ruching was done by hand to avoid having the machine eat it and copious profanity from me.

Over bodice is boned along the font lacing and the back zipper.

Lined with unbleached cotton muslin for durability and breathability.

Back snaps allow wings to be attached without annoying and ugly arm elastics - Hurrah!

Finally getting around to complete site re-do and putting it back up after server problems in the summer.

Punk Faerie has been v. busy working and such, so re-cap of last while.

Working at Ragpickers, local vintage emporium and costume rentals galore. Hallowe’en is the busy time of year as you can imagine. Lots of Pirates and Flappers (Some of which I gave makeovers to...)

The window was done post Hallow’s Eve in a Masquerade theme in reference to the fancy dress parties and New Year’s celebrations of yore.

The other window will soon be filled with ye olde carolers - another popular theme this time of year.

Degus need stockings too!

Chugging along on other xmas things for human beings also but top secret until then. Feeling alternately positive and excited, and then panicky and grinch-like re: holidays. Want to embrace spirit of winter wonderland, making handmade gifts and finding treasures at flea markets and thrift stores. It really does make me happy.

Unfortunately, need to work as much as possible to pay off debts/ buy groceries etc. therefore leaving little time to actually get my own projects done. New winter coat is still a large piece of red wool and now revised brown paper patterns. Website still in state of not quite finished.... perhaps will try to at least get something up with lots of apologies for “Coming Soon!” signs...

It’s a new year and Punk Faerie is currently working in the land of theatre, specifically as part of the stage management team for a show opening soon at the regional theatre’s second stage.

For those not in the know, stage management involves a lot of paperwork, scheduling, long days, and in this case, much prop wrangling. The job can be summed up by bringing order to chaos.

On the bright side, it is 6 weeks of steady employment. Unfortunately it means that for 6 weeks I have little time for having a life or keeping up this web site.

Hopefully I shall find time after we open and I have my days free again.

Until then, here are some pics of xmas gifts I made this year....

A beret for my sister and the long awaited double knit squirrel hat for a good friend.

Festive earrings for a xmasofile friend

Ooo!                Visitors!

It’s spring!  Hurrah!

Punk Faerie is busy working another contract until the end of the month, but is trying to make an effort to do small updates to this site.

Very soon a mannequin will be borrowed and lots of lovely pictures shall appear for the links in the sidebar which are looking sad and empty.

I may also be adding a section for ‘not your average alterations’ for that treasured piece of clothing that needs to be made wearable again....

Until then.... *sparkles*
